Musical composition from a variety of the world's cultures directly stimulate and influence my art of quiltmaking. While in the act of creating I enjoy listening to jazz, blues, Celtic, classical, or Asian music - whichever suits the mood I wish to express in my quilts. I am exploring the work done by women and the use of coding in their lives and the art they produce in relationship to universal folklore and myths. I have chosen the mixed-media art quilt as the medium in which to record these explorations.

The use of the written word and the visual language of symbols are vital aspects of my artwork. I delight in playing with word structure and the use of double meanings that can be associated with the titles of my art quilts. These mixed-media art quilts are embellished with a variety of found objects to enhance the sculptural quality of the quilt.
